Hungarian wax peppers are considered a very hot pepper when left to mature and turn red. Otherwise use this pepper when still yellow for fresh eating, or pickled. The Hungarian wax pepper is not to be confused with the banana pepper which is sweet in comparison.

How to
Star seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost, be sure to soak your seeds overnight before planting. Sow soaked seeds no more than 1/4 inch into the soil in individual cells or pots. Keep the seeds very warm around 75° for successful germination. Once the plants have shown 2 sets of true leave consider transplanting to larger pots if using cells, or if outdoor low temperatures are above 65° transplant outside, to boost growth use fish meal added to the soil.
